The Center for Conscious Living and Dying (CCLD) is a heart-centered community devoted to embracing dying as a sacred life passage.

We offer nourishing, end-of-life care that augments hospice services in a home-like setting.

We serve a small number of individuals receiving hospice care, with an eye towards celebrating individual diversity.

CCLD is a diverse, intergenerational community that celebrates living and dying through the arts, meaningful ritual, shared resources and time. Many member volunteers work or have worked in professional health care or social services.

We see dying as a mysterious and natural life phase that deserves more attention in today’s world. We believe that honoring death helps individuals live more vibrantly, and we are committed to creating a more holistic way to live and die.

Your loved one qualifies for hospice care if they have Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and meet certain criteria for hospice admission, including having a terminal diagnosis with a prognosis of six months or less.

Your hospice doctor and your regular doctor (if you have one) certify that you're terminally ill.

You can ask your doctor to refer or self-refer.

An end-of-life doula is a non-medical professional trained to care for a terminally ill person's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during the death process.

A home funeral is when a loved one is cared for at home after death, and the funeral occurs in the home.
