About the Event
Calling the voices of the heart to sing in unity!Â
The CCLD Community Choir -- directed by Artist-in-Residence Joel Karabo Elliott -- will launch on Monday evening April 8 with our first rehearsal from 6:30-8pm.Â
Joel says: "The choir is open to all CCLD members, whether or not you think you can sing! Talented vocalists and musicians are also very much invited to help us bring the choir to its highest potential. The purpose of the choir is to discover our voice together through singing communal songs that honor the many reflections of conscious living and dying. The facilitation style will be a seamless blend of fun exploration and semi-serious training. We are aiming for a sustainable level of repertoire, joyful solidarity, and commitment to learning and mastery of music even from a very diverse pool of experience and exposure. The choir will sing at public functions, including the CCLD launch on May 17.Â
The choir will meet twice monthly -- on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of every month -- and aims to become a CCLD establishment, so if you already envision being committed to this, please consider penciling those dates into your calender. Blessing to your families, and I can't wait to see and hear you all. When I see you I see myself, and that's how I know, together we're gonna grow!"
