About the Event

A new IFS Group is forming facilitated by Lynne Michelson and Courtney Smith.

We will be hosting four introductory sessions on the third and first Mondays, starting Feb. 17th.

This is for CCLD volunteers and donor members only.

Imagine that your inner world is like a family or a team, where different parts of you each have their own roles, feelings, and ways of trying to help you. Just like in a family, some parts might be protective - they're like guardians trying to keep you safe. Other parts might carry difficult emotions or memories. And there's also a core part of you - what we call the 'Self' - that has natural qualities of curiosity, compassion, and wisdom.

The good news is that all these parts, even the ones that might feel troublesome, ultimately have good intentions. They're trying to help, even if their methods might not be working well anymore. Through IFS, we learn to get to know these parts, understand their concerns, and help them find more effective ways to support us.

In this group, we'll practice getting to know our parts with curiosity and compassion, rather than trying to get rid of them or fight with them. Think of it like becoming a good listener and mediator for your own inner team. We will explore IFS and its potential for healing ourselves, nurturing trust and directly assisting us with relational conflicts. Over time, the goal is to fall madly in love with yourself and others in the group as we meet and mingle with our inner parts and apply what we learn there to our outer communities.
