About the Group:
This six session IFS Depth Group is for people who are committed to exploring their inner world through the model of Internal Family Systems. The group is experiential and transformative in nature, using the IFS processes to support the power of being in “Self.” The focus is on you doing your own work while being an essential part of the entire group's growth through witnessing others do their parts work. Through demos, dyads, small groups and whole group processes, as well as creative outlets including somatic work, movement, and art, our collective learning becomes exponential. We will also include some didactic discussion, handouts and offer external practice opportunities for you to continue to explore at home.
Content for the Six Week IFS Series:
Basics of IFS: What is a “part?” How do we get to know a part and its purposes? What makes parts protective of us, yet keep aliveness and passion out of reach? How can we experience more regularly and embody what we might call our Essential Self? (called SELF in IFS) Practicing ways for embracing and loving parts so they feel safe to heal; such as welcoming them, befriending and unburdening them. You will gain a deeper connection with your purpose so you can make needed changes in your life.
We will explore these questions: how do we resolve inner conflicts so we can participate in healing a divided world? How do we awaken to the divine within ourselves without bypassing our humanity? How do we love parts of ourselves that hurt self or others?
Agreements: We will go over these and add others that will help set the container for courageous sharing and presenced witnessing. You should be able to say yes to these prior to joining.
I commit to attending all six sessions if at all possible. I understand that my participation is essential to holding the container for personal transformation for me and others. If I can’t attend, I’ll let Lynne know prior to the session I will miss.
I agree to hold everything that I hear from anyone sharing in the group confidential. This is essential for developing trust both within and outside the container of the group.
I agree that once the container of the group is closed (at the end of each session) I will use moment to moment consent to reopen it with a specific group member outside of group times.
During the group, I agree to use moment to moment consent for comforting touch, to ask questions, or to go deeper.
I understand that I am taking personal responsibility for my own growth and learning and I agree to allow others to do the same. I will refrain from trying to fix or teach or comfort for my own benefit.
We look forward to exploring IFS with you all!
