Drum Creation Workshop - with Zoe Allison-Rockingbear

Create a shamanic drum and work with the ancestors. 

We have been working with drums since the beginning of sound.  Zoe Allison-Rockingbear has been making drums for many years, and found them a beautiful way to contact our ancestors, for healing, for traveling, and for answers to our questions.

Participants will make a one-sided shamanic drum. The hides will be either deer or elk, and the drum size is 13 inches wide by 3 inches deep. 

Drum creation work is intense, and you will finish your drum that day. Participants will sit on the floor, so dress comfortably and bring a cushion to sit on.  

Please bring:

• a small handful of cornmeal for your ancestors

• two towels

• a sharp knife (no box cutters)

• chopsticks

• a large plastic bag

• a pencil or pen

• wooden clothespins (many)
