CCLD Leadership needs your help!

All Direct Care Volunteers (new and old) are invited to join a Town Hall Zoom meeting

July 8, 7:30pm-8:30pm.

We are at an important juncture in our development, and your perspectives and voices are requested to help us explore ideas and options for moving forward. Now that we have been providing consistent care for 54 days in a row, it’s easy to recognize that we do not have enough Direct Care volunteers, especially now that July 4th week is looming, and summer travel season is upon us.

The last thing any of us wants is for anyone to feel sad or guilty when they are not able to show up, or for anyone to be serving more turns than were expected or possible. And, your Directors and Suites Team are struggling to ensure that all turns have adequate coverage. One of the things that Omega Homes have proven to be successful, is having just the right number of volunteers to cover resident care 24/7. Here are aa few current fun facts:

• Other homes that are volunteer run can operate successfully with between 80-90 trained people actively caring for the dying.
• CCLD has 101 trained Direct Care volunteers
• Less than 50 volunteers are serving actively

We are thrilled to have 25 new volunteers on the horizon, AND it will take time to lovingly and effectively help them, along with the many others who still want, need, and deserve support, to be confident in serving turns.

Many people were trained, and have not yet become active.  NOW IS THE TIME, to let us know if you still intend to serve.  We honor your “no”, and would appreciate your commitment, if you are still a “yes”.

Leadership is seeking your help as a community. Please join in discussion around ways to provide care in this interim… until we’re able to train more volunteers. It’s imperative that we move forward in a way that is sustainable, and in harmony with what this community most needs and wants!
