CCLD Member Potluck & Volunteer Fair! [NEW DATE]

Come! Join us as we gather in community to celebrate this season of REBIRTH at CCLD, share a meal together, and enjoy the festivities with all the different Teams at our Volunteer Fair. With Spring unfurling in the mountains, the Sanctuary is becoming more beautiful by the day! Come out to connect with this inspiring place, kindred spirits, and fellow volunteers. Whether you are a longtime member, recently joined the community, or if you're attending with a friend, this will be a wonderful time to learn about the purpose of each Team and find out what draws people to CCLD.  

Explore the Many Ways to Serve at CCLD and Enjoy Community Food and Connection

With such a wide variety of service opportunities at CCLD, you'll want to explore several teams! We’re making it easy for you to get a taste of everything. Think back to your high school days when you got to try different classes—this is just like that (with kindred spirits and deeper conversations!).

Schedule of Festivities:

• Arrival: 11:00 AM

• Lightning Round of Team Offerings: 11:20 AM

• Potluck Feast: 11:45 AM

• Team 1 Visit: 12:40 PM (15 minutes)

• Team 2 Visit: 1:00 PM (15 minutes)

• Team 3 Visit: 1:20 PM (15 minutes)

• Team 4 Visit: 1:40 PM (15 minutes)

Enjoy exploring the diverse opportunities to serve and connect with the CCLD community!

How It Works:

1. Introduction via Lightning Round: we'll gather for a brief introduction to all the teams in a quick, engaging Lightning Round. On your selection card, simply mark the teams (or “classrooms”) that you'd like to visit and learn more about.

2. Potluck Feast: Enjoy a delicious meal made by our community before heading out to visit teams.

3. Team Visits - Round Robin: After the potluck, a singing bowl (or bell) will signal that it’s time to start your journey. You'll have about 15 minutes with each team to ask questions, hear about their mission, and how you might serve alongside fellow volunteers. When the bell rings, you move on to visit another team! You should be able to visit 3 or 4 teams during this session, giving you a well-rounded idea of all that CCLD has to offer and where you'd like to focus your energy in this season of Rebirth.

NOTES FOR THE POTLUCK:

* Bring a dish to share and note to identify ingredients for people with various food restrictions

(ex: Spinach Artichoke Bites – contains gluten+dairy)

* BYO-Dinnerware Set (bring your own plate/bowl, cup, napkins, utensils, etc. to help lighten the load in the kitchen and soften our footprint on the planet)  

* CARPOOL PLEASE ~ Remember to park at the church (at the corner of New Salem Rd and Warren Wilson Road) before you reach Sanctuary Rd and please ride in with a group of 3+ people per car to ensure there's enough room for everyone to park. You might make a new friend before the potluck even begins!
