About the Event
A familiar inner weather system I've been working with is the fears that visit me around death. No matter how much work one has done to wake up, we are all travelers on the wheel of becoming. There is no permanent self. And death is there to remind us.
The good news is we are not alone. This evening will be a moment to sit in circle, be with the mystery of death, and feel into " what is my true nature ? " And to take the support of words of traditional wisdom from the Tibetan Book of the Dead within a sound field of peaceful, mysterious music.
We'll arrive, slow down, and settle in with some context building. Followed by a half hour or so of sound meditation listening to this recent recording I've made. After listening will be a time for sharing and discussion. This is intended as a healing experiential journey to the moment of death and the bardos. Bardo Thodol, commonly called the Tibetan Book of the Dead, is literally translated from Tibetan as " The Great Liberation by Hearing in the Intermediate State.I want to clearly state that I am not a Buddhist, or a scholar of Buddhist teachings. I am presenting this as something that is universal to the human heart and beneficial for anyone who may have an interest. This is a free event and open to anyone.
The Bardo Thodol was written to be read to the spirit of the deceased in the intermediate state between the moment the soul left the body & the time it was reborn. Underlying the vision of the Bardo Thodol is the understanding of the interconnectedness of all things.
