EQUINOX Ceremony at Warren Wilson College

Dearest Community,

We are delighted to gather in honor of the earth this Spring Equinox, Thursday March 20th, at Warren Wilson College. Our time together will be a dynamic blend of creative opportunity for children and all ages, offering the Swannanoa a river blessing ceremony held on her shores, followed by dancing together in celebrating all life on this special day! 

Please arrive by 4:30 PM if you would like to join us for the river blessing. Children and caretakers may choose to stay and create art honoring the waters while the ceremony takes place. Clare Duplace will be holding this creative child-centered space at the pavilion. 

We will walk from the Pavilion to the river's edge to make our offerings and offer praise, song, and sound. We will gather water to be set within the altar holding the energy of the dance, and this water will be returned to the river infused with our prayers. 

Schedule:

4:30pm Arrive at the Pavilion

4:45-5:45pm Options:  (1) Art-making at the pavilion  (2) Walk to the Swannanoa River via the WWC Garden and Bamboo stand

5:45pm Return to the Pavilion

6-7:15pm Dance at the Pavilion (facilitated by Bob Swoap). Water and spring equinox theme.
