You can make a contribution of appreciated stocks and enjoy substantial tax advantages. When stocks are donated directly to CCLD, you avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciated value. Additionally, you can claim a charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time of the donation. How it works

1. You transfer appreciated securities to CCLD.

2. CCLD sells the securities and uses the proceeds to fund critical needs that keep the Sanctuary Suites at full capacity year-round. 

 

How You Benefit

1. You receive credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value (average high and low prices on the day of the transfer).

2. You avoid capital gains tax.

 

Please note that the securities you use to make your gift must have been held by you for more than one year to be fully deductible.

Transfer Directions

Transfer your stock by either of two methods.

1. Transfer by broker: Draft a letter to your broker providing instructions for the stock transfer.
